Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how HostSora (“HostSora”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit hostsora.com. We’ve tried to keep it plain and honest. HostSora is a comparison website — there are no user accounts, and we collect as little as we can.
Information we collect
- Information you type into the AI advisor.When you use “Help me choose”, the description you enter is sent to our server and on to our AI provider to generate a recommendation (see below). Please don’t enter personal or sensitive information there — it isn’t needed.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested). We also briefly process your IP address in memory to rate-limit the advisor and prevent abuse; it is not stored long-term for that purpose.
- No accounts.We don’t ask you to register, and we don’t collect names, passwords, or payment details — any purchase happens on the host’s own site, not ours.
The AI advisor and Anthropic
The “Help me choose” feature sends the text you submit, together with our public hosting-plan data, to Anthropic(the provider of the Claude AI model) so it can return a recommendation. Your input is processed to answer your request and is subject to Anthropic’s own privacy terms. We do not use the advisor to build a profile of you, and we don’t store your conversations beyond what’s needed to handle the request.
Cookies and tracking
HostSora itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we add a privacy-respecting analytics tool, it will measure aggregate traffic (such as page views) without identifying you individually, and we will update this policy. Note that when you click an affiliate link, the destination host or its affiliate network may set their own cookies — see below.
Affiliate links
Many outbound “Go to host” links are affiliate links. When you click one, the host or its affiliate network may place a cookie on your device to attribute a sign-up to us, which is how we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That cookie is set and controlled by the third party under their privacy policy, not ours. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site:
- Our web host, which processes server requests and logs.
- Anthropic, which powers the AI advisor as described above.
- The hosting companies and affiliate networks you choose to visit via our links.
Data retention
We keep technical/log data only as long as needed to operate and secure the site, then delete or anonymise it. Advisor inputs are not retained for marketing or profiling.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we hold very little personal data and no accounts, there is usually little to act on — but you can contact us any time at contact@hostsora.comand we’ll respond.
International visitors
HostSora is operated for a global audience and our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the site you understand your information may be processed in those locations under appropriate safeguards.
Children’s privacy
HostSora is intended for a general, adult audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves (for example if we add analytics). We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do.
